The Census happens every ten years and is a survey of the whole population. The last Census of England and Wales was held on 27th March 2011. It captures a breadth of information which can be used to help target resources more efficiently and inform policy-making.
For more information about the Census please visit the Office of National Statistics website.
To help interpret the Census tables, we have produced a series of briefing notes. Please note these are currently only available for Nottingham City.
If you need any further information please contact the Policy and Research team.
